Hi There,

Can anyone tell me what the symbols that look like 3 overlapping blue teardrops (sorry that's the best I can describe them !) represent on my Sat Nav screen. I recently updated my maps and these are appearing all over the place and I have no idea what they mean.

Hi DustyFizz,

Yeah but these are weird POI's. There are always 3 of them overlapping and there are no symbols in them to indicate what they mean.
I'll see if I can take a photo of them and post it.

I'm also learning this system so...
I think all POI symbols are generic and identical not individual.
If there are a few in one area they are grouped in three.
Yours might be set to display all.
Try filtering the POI so that only Hotels show up.

OK will have a play around with the filters tonight and see if I can isolate it.
Will let the thread know.
Thanks for the input though.

Steve

Well!!

That was all useless information, sorry about that.
I just came back from a short run and paid attention to those symbols, I don't have a clue?
All other POI are clearly marked, fuel, church, bank etc.

I think I solved it.
The triple symbol is when there are multiple POI too close together to have individual markers. This would make for a very clutered map.
If you select that symbol it will show all the locations there, often on different streets but listing the correct address for each.
I had to hit every button and dial till I figured it out.

Hi.
Yes, it seems to be at locations where there are a number of shops etc so your explanation would make sense.
Just one more question if I may. I've only had my CX5 for a couple of weeks so still getting used to the systems. How do you select a symbol on the map display ?

It's easiest to simply point touch on the screen.
Then go to 'select point' on the bottom menu bar. This will list all that is available at or near this location.
