swith from protege to mazda3?

Hey guys, i would like to get some of your option. in a few months i would be looking for a new car, and i think that i will be going with the Mazda 3 Gt. that means i have to kiss my Protg (first car ever owned) good bye, there is nothing wrong with it. all of my services were done by the dealer, and it has a few bolt on mods.
i cant afford to make payments for 2 cars. So i would like to know... would you recommened that i go with a mazda 3?

fyi the mazda3 gt and speed3 sport are very close in price.

Either or they are both great cars and a good investment. The plain 3 will be like the protege a tank that never breaks, I own a speed 3, well see how that goes but right now it is the best car ever.

i made a little mistake buying my protege beacuse i got the mid level LX. and i spend lots of money already trying to upgrade the proformance and looks, so that why i would like a GT that already has the 17" alloys moon roof, ect.. im going to the dealer tonite to test drive and get a better understanding on all the mazda3's packages

I went from my protege to the speed3, so the comparison there is not too fair, but in the interim of selling my protege and picking up the ms3, my sister let me borrow her 2006 3i. I thought it was a major step up from the protege and I had the ES (top of the line) compared to her 3i (middle of the road). There are differences, but if you liked your protege, you will definitely like the 3 as well.

I also went from a 2002 DX Mazda Protege(auto) with a few bolt ons to a 2006 Mazda3 Hatch(5speed) s touring. All I can say is WOW! What a difference but it was well worth it.

My advice to you is make sure you know EXACTLY what you want in reguards to power/features/packages or etc..etc. Then shop around for some prices.
