Switch from pannaut fmic to perrin fmic. **56K warning**

actualy ion is 925 not 1150. so shipped and taxes should be around 1000. but im in no saying i would choose ion. ion makes good stuff but has the wors customer service ever, ehhh wait theyre better then essential speed atleast.....

The only way to center it is to redrill the bumper support holes so that they are more like slots. That way you can have movement back and forth.

Hey mspeed101 do you live in Coral Springs, FL? Are you the guy I am installing that fmic for the day before the meet in Orlando?
Yep (thumb)

Do you know the comparisons in that and the Begi FMIC?

All I can say is what I've seen and from what I have seen I think the begi fmic looks like crap. I don't like the way it sits in the bumper opening it looks odd. I think the perrin kit has the most direst pipe routing, largest core, best made core and is geared towards the person who will be boosting high 15psi and over. The begi one could be really nice but it's not my style. Plus it might be geared to get maximum performance on a stock msp, I do not have a stock msp and in a couple of months I will have forged internal, engine management, extra injectors, ported and polished exhaust manifold and a rebuilt turbo that will be capable of flowing 350whp. At that point I will be boosting 18psi daily and hopefully will be putting down 300+ to the wheels. This kit was right for me, it might not be the right one for everyone.

I think it looks awesome that is one big core, you go my man.

Nice Job, Looks sweet, If I had gone air to air that would be the one I would get.

Thanks I like it. I just hate having to take it apart again to center it.

********** is great to deal with, just for anyone that wants to know do they have this kit in stock?

I just got off the phone with Cullen a few minutes ago and he has a few more on the way, should be here next week. As far as I know I am the guenie pig, but it's cool with me. Cullen is the man and can get this stuff anytime anyone needs it and he always gives free shipping so lets support the people who are supporting us. I personally buy all my stuff from cullen, even if I can save a couple bucks somewhere else I will still get it from cullen because he really tries to support the msp cummunity. And he drives a msp too so you gotta show him some love.

You got that right I will support him anytime I buy something I should have gotten my clutch from him he was giving a great price on it.

Yup he has the act clutch in stock for the speed now. I was just in his garage looking at all the msp stuff the other day.

Wow thank you for all the positive comments again. (cool)

Our philosophy was to make this part with as direct piping as possible, as few connectors as possible and as large of an intercooler core as we can allow and still provide a functional bumper beam.

Thank you for appreciating our hard work.

I showed your pictures to Jeff our lead tech. He believes that there should be enough play in the bolts, securing the intercooler and the bumper beam support, to center the intercooler. His suggestion is to measure how far the intercooler needs to shift. Remove the bumper skin and put a reference mark on the top of the intercooler and vehicle frame. Loosen the intercooler bolts and the bumper beam support. Try to shift the intercooler over as needed by your first measurement. If that does not work, feel free to give Jeff a call. He would be glad to offer assistance over the phone. 1.503.643.4677

Don't forget if you would like a PERRIN stencil just let me know. Also F.Y.I. any future intercooler purchases will all come with a PERRIN stencil.

Thank you again
cheers

Ditto. He wouldnt send me mine b/c some of the fins were just slightly bent, so he is having perrin ship a new kit to me. That is what I call great support. Someone who actually calls you personally to let you know they were not happy with the product before they send it off to you. He took care of everything. It is worth any addtional wait time.

But about the mounting and centering. I am told by cullen that all future perrin FMIC's will have the mounting holes for the core "ovaled" so you can move the FMIC from side to side to get the perfect centered fit. That makes me very happy!

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try to shift the intercooler, but I think I am all the way to the left with the bolts. I believe the only way is to make the bolts more like slots so they is a side to side movement where the intercooler bolts to the bumper support. As for the stencile I would love one, I will pm you my address. Aside from the very small issues I am very pleased with your product and thanks for supporting the msp community.
