As a Goodyear Employee at the Corporate Headquarters in Akron you can say I'm quite pleased to bring you the news about our new tires that we will be revealing to the world on Friday.

The Goodyear Assurance featuring ComforTred TechnologyTM is a premium auto tire that promises a quiet ride and high comfort, a choice for drivers of premium luxury vehicles.

The Assurance featuring ComforTred Technology was designed with a super-absorbent layer that provides, on average, 20 percent more cushion between the tread and belt than standard auto tires. More cushion results in more absorption of vibration, whether the tire is traversing a railroad crossing, passing through potholes, or simply rolling down an average roadway. And by absorbing more vibration, it makes for a smoother, more enjoyable ride.

For this ComforTred Technology a system of densely packed tread blocks offers a smooth and comfortable ride. The super-absorbent layer between the tread and belt provide insulation from vibration and impacts from potholes, bumps and road debris. And, because appearance is important to owners of luxury automobiles, Assurance featuring ComforTred Technology also has PermaBlack, an exclusive compound additive that maintains new-tire appearance throughout the life of the tire.

Here is a picture of one of the tires.

Assurance featuring TripleTred TechnologyTM features "ANY weather conditions" performance through three unique tread zones. A Water Zone, consisting of deeply carved Aquachutes, propels water away from the tires tread on rain-drenched roads. An interlocking tread pattern in the Ice Zone translates into more gripping power on icy or snow-covered roads. A Dry Zone features reinforced tire shoulders for confident maneuvering around curves, potholes and unexpected road debris on dry pavement.

Perhaps the most creative feature is the use of fiberglass fibers and volcanic sand in the tires Ice Zone, which allows the tire to maintain flexibility in cold weather. This kind of breakthrough engineering in tread design and rubber compounding gives the new tire exceptional traction in cold, wet or dry conditions.

Further consumer peace of mind is created with the new Driver Assurance Package, which includes the following:
  • 80,000-mile treadlife limited warranty
  • 30-Day No Obligation Trial Period
  • Roadside assistance program
  • Nationwide warranty service
  • On-line product registration
  • Tire rotation reminder service

Available to consumers in April, the Goodyear Assurance featuring TripleTred Technology will be offered in 13 initial sizes, ranging from 14- to 16-inch wheel diameters, with more sizes coming soon after the initial release!

Yeah but it's a Goodyear, so it'll really last 20,000 miles. Their tires are as soft as dogs*** on a hot summer day. Work the same too....

I think I'll pass. They probably kill handing in that they're mushy as hell. Besides, I like to "feel" the road through the car, it lets me know what it's doing....especially in a corner.

The middle tred compound includes volcanic ash and fiberglass to grip snow and ice. That's pretty cool. These seem like great all season tires, however I'd rather have Goodyear F1's for summer driving.

Oh and MCstark, these are 80,000-mile tires.

I know that's what they're rated at...but will they actually last that long -- I would doubt it.
