AFAIK...the RP4 can keep your Bose installation.
When I went to RP4 was due to the previous experience that people has on the forum with detailed guidelines.
It seems that RP4 is easier to install.
If no Bose I think there is not any technical issue for you to install swi
Hi, My CX-5 does not have Bose, but I am planning to install new Radio and an amplifier, so I will need the Amplifier Remote wire. Is it included in SWI-CP5??
RP4-MZ11 includes some outputs that looks like are not included in SWI-CP5:
Parking Brake Output (-)
Vehicle Speed Output
Amp Turn On Input
Accessory Output
2nd SWC Input
Illumination Output (+)
Reverse Output (+)
Are they really need for a Pioneer Radio install (Pioneer SPH-DA120 or new Pioneer AVH-4100NEX)??? I plan to install Rear Camera too.
The reverse output ia necessary for rear camera to switch on while on reverse....if not present perhaps you need to extend a wire from the reverse lights.
As SWI-CP5 is newer than RP4-MZ11, I thought that it might be better, but after checking the configurations, it lacks some of the outputs that are present in RP4-MZ11:
Parking Brake Output (-)
Vehicle Speed Output
Amp Turn On Input
Accessory Output
2nd SWC Input
Illumination Output (+)
Reverse Output (+)
So looks like good old RP4-MZ11 is still the way to go.
Well, many of them have no use, but the REVERSE OUTPUT for Rear Camera is important for me, I prefer not to mess the car wiring to tap the reverse light wire.
The Reverse Light Bulb does not run on CAN, it needs plain 12V (Switched ON when reverse is engaged) and GND, and some people tap the reverse bulb wire to get 12V for the camera.
Somewhere here, I have read that somebody had a bad image, when he got the signal, from the reverse bulb wire. It was recommended to use an accessory plug's power. On my previous VW, I had the CAN-BUs signal to that bulb.
If it is as you said, than it's much easier.
