Sway Bars on Protege

Last year was the first year I had auto-x'd in my protege. It was an awesome time. I want to continue this year, but work on my setup a bit more.

My current set up is BC coils(8K/4K), and MSP rear sway bar w/ AXR brackets.

Now I have the MSP front sway bar sitting in my garage. With my current setup, I have throttle off oversteer whenever I wanted it. It worked out really well. But, looking at pictures of my car, I am 3-wheeling it around corners, which kinda tells me that the fronts suspension is maxing out

Now, I was wondering, if I add the front MSP sway bar, will I lose my oversteer? can I make it up by going to 6k rear springs instead of 4k springs? I guess only people with MSP would know for sure. Advice would be helpfull.

Its a good thing to 3wheel it. The front sway bar will kill a bit of the oversteer but it'll do wonders for the front of the car. I would definitely switch to 6K rear springs and continue to go up from there once you get a handle on the new setup.

i think your on the right track, 6k rear will help and a must should you install your front bar.. im in the same place for the most part.. switched from the skunk2 set up 8k/6k to the JICs 6k/4k with the AWR 21M rear sway, and also thinking of installing the MSP front bar i have in the garage as the now softer sus seems to be working so much harder, i have a protege5 so i have a little more weight in the rear, the higher rear rates seem to make all the differance for me. now im more fast road than auto-x so a little less rear toe and bar keeps the car balanced in high speed corners

the MSP front sway after I already had a progress rear did *wonders* for the car. It's an absolute *pita* to install but worth it(since you have to lower the front sub frame). Some oversteer is lost as others have suggested, but the decreased amount of under steer and overall more planted feel is worth it by miles.

Personally when I installed my rear sways I didn't notice too much affect on over/understeer, but the car did feel much more planted afterwards, so it was def. a worthy replacement.

Did you have a front sway bar and no rear bar, then install the rear?

Not having a rear bar on my MSP is TERRIBLE.
