Swapping P5 ECU with MP3(turbo) ECU

Not sure if this is in the right topic but...

Anybody out there with an MP3 turbo'ed who wants to swap their ECU with my P5 ECU? Prefer them to be near my area, I only have the one car and don't want to be without one waiting for the ECU in the mail, but maybe we can make arrangements if you are not around Toronto.

So you want an MP3 ECU for your P5 ECU?

I am in NC, but I can go ahead and ship you mine, then you can swap them out and ship me yours back. Let me know asap as I would like to do this soon.

I'am availble too. I offered mine to Linux, but I'am on his waiting list :D

Well anyone in the NC area with a P5 wanting to switch I would like to. I would like for it to be close so we could just meet up and switch. I'll drive as far as you will.

I see in your sig that you plan on adding turbo sometime. That is the whole reason we are getting rid of our ECU's. Unless it will be a while before turbo and you plan on switching back when you got turbo.

I just talked to two dealerships concerning the swapping of ECU's. Both said it shouldn't be done because there are some other differences besides the advance timing. Also they said it will definately void warranty.

Is there anybody who actually done this or has confirmed with a Mazda mechanic that this is doable(sp?). Both places said they don't recommend it and said it could cause problems. Of course when I talked to them it was just the service people and they might not know what they are talking about.

well crap. somebody please prove the mazda guys wrong I want to swap. And the warrenty, haha If I still had that I would not need to swap ECU's

If you guys check out flyin miata

Here's the link

The already did the swap..and you can see the dyno for the pro5....

Chas

P.S. I might be intersted in trading w/ someone...I have a Pro5...and Live in NJ...

anyone know if this will kill my engine b/c i am runnin Nitrous??

Chas

Correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't the P5 from Kartboy have an MP3 ECU in it?

and yes Adam3482P, it will be a while until i get my turbo, atleast a year
(sad2)

I don't get it. The results on FlyinProtege's site are better with the MP3 ECU...so whats the benifit of this trade for the MP3ers?

So installing the FlyinProtege Turbo voids the warrantee right? How long will it be before we can get ahold of the MazdaSpeed Turbo? I'd like to get a turbo, but my warrantee is more important at this point.
