Swapped car battery and settings reset? Service question

Hey Guys,

I recently replaced the battery in my 2021 CE Turbo AWD with an Everstart Platinum AGM 650CCA, which cost me $179.

After the swap, I noticed something odd:
I have a service sticker from my dealer showing that I’m approaching the recommended mileage for service. However, when I check the vehicle’s under-hood settings, the service reminder still shows 2,700 miles remaining. I’m not sure if this was reset during the battery replacement.

Should I go ahead and take the car in for service based on the dealer sticker, or trust the system reminder?

Also, I’d appreciate any advice on what settings or systems I should check or reconfigure after a battery swap. I’ve noticed some things seem to have reset or changed.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best,

A lot of times the dealer will add 3,000 miles onto the sticker. Your maintenance minder was probably set to 5,000 miles which is kinda standard. That's probably why there is a difference. I would not do service at 3,000 miles unless you drive in very severe conditions. My dealer always puts a sticker on for 3,000 miles. Money maker for them.

As far as settings I'd check and make sure all the audio station settings are there. I'm sure if anything got reset you'll find out soon enough.

thank you for your reply.

Follow up on this, does changing batteries generally resets the service counter by any chance ?

Who changed the battery recently?

I didn't lose the radio stations on mine when I changed the battery. I believe I had to have the driver side door window 're-learn' the 'auto- up/down' function. At the time my DRL lighting was set to 'auto-on'-- the factory default, so I don't know about that function.

It should not. That info is written to an E-PROM so it can't be erased. Same as the odometer readings.
