Hey guys,
This is my first post in the Mazda3 question! I've been looking to change cars for a while now (either a 5 or CX-5), but I'll be keeping my 2010 Mz3 sport for 2 more years. I have had it for 4 and a half years now with 85k km on the speedo (close to 55k miles).
Recently, it's been handling pretty loose... I did an alignment, keeps a fairly straight line, but I feel like the car is very sluggish on bumps, especially on lateral stability. I currently don't have any clunking sounds whatsoever, BUT I did have one last winter (could have been ice? bad ball joint?? Dunno, now it's gone).
So my question is : What suspension part could make the car sluggish? note that I have OEM 16" wheels, with Bridgestone Potenza Re760 Sport tires, which I find quite good! Could it be a ball joint? a bad strut/spring killing car geometry? Links, tie rods?? Any suggestions would be appreciated
On a side note, since my car is a daily driver and kid (1, 15 months) hauler, if I ever change suspension parts, do you recommend going OEM or a bit more "performance" wise?
Same goes for the brakes, which I will probably change within the next 6 months...
Thanks for you input!
Fred
