I know some of you watch the Dave Chapelle show. Isnt this thread starting to sounds like the "Hater Awards." Where to most diabolical haters gather to hate on those who dont know about the MSP/MP3.

it sucks for p5, msp, and mp3 owners because they are always lumped together with the protege sedan.

i swear i have to tell people i work with at least once a week that its a protege5......5 dammit! 5! not just protege!

my insurance co has it listed as a protege. whenver i call somewhere for a quote (tint shops) or have something installed, they ask what kind of car i have and i say protege5. they are like, "5? whats that? is it the same as the regular protege" so yeah, basically when the tint shop said they had no idea what the p5 was and that they could "probably" use the same as the sedan, i hung up...

I was waiting outside Pizza Pizza in my car, and this old guy comes up to me and ask me about my wing and if it was for show or does it actually do something. I just said it keeps the car down at high speeds ( I dunno?) and then he rambles on about moving to Canada from god knows where, and starts talking about the war, religion and so forth, he was starting to scare me! Old ppl are weird!

I was driving through the drive up liquor store that I always go through. The guy in the window commented on the Racing Harts, he liked them, and then we ended up shooting the s*** for 15 minutes. There was two of the, they wanted to know what psi I was boosting at, etc etc. I really did not expect anything less. He drives a brand new STI and they are both into the import scene.

So we all have stories with even the smartest people not knowing what the hell are cars are.

But this morning I was getting my food from Chick-Fil-A and the mentally handicapped guy that gave me my food knew what I was driving. He asked me if that is the turbocharged Protege. I was like yep sure is. He said that thing is cool. I said thanks and was on my way.

Thought it was kinda funny and cool at the same time so I figured I would share with you guys.

oh and yesterday at the gas station, two kids in matching tiburons wanted me to buy parts from some kind of shop they were opening. they didn't belive that i had a protege, they swore it was either the 6 or the 3.

funny thing abt all these stories was that most of them dont know mazda...i have someone brag abt racing and beating a msp with his stock P5...turned out it was a yellow mp3...told him the spoiler of the yellow msp dont have the center pillar..he still stick to his gun and said it was a msp...gosh even my 2y/o son knows a mazdaspeed...at least the blue ones..hehe..he says..ZOOMZOOM mazdaspeed fast car..hahaha

lol living in oklahoma i never have any1 know wth im driving except for peeps that are into the import scene already except one time at a car wash a guy came up to me and said sweet car and pointed at his ride and said i have a protege too. the thing was it was just a norm dx w/ all the msp emblems and the 03 msp wing and body kit lol. i thought it was funny seeing a dx like that lol. the inside was craap and he siad it runs like "poop on wheels" whatever the hell that means. doh

Just think of it this way guys: when someone wants to race you for cash because he thinks you have a mp3. 6. whatever, its easy cash for you. I almost made $50 last night from some civic till his friend showed up to be the flagger and knew what i had. made me sad cause i wanted $50...
