Has anyone contacted Jackson Racing on the possibility of producing a Supercharger? I wrote them an email today, so I'll let you know what I hear back from them. Hopefully they'll help us out so we can all have affordable fast station wagons....haha.

Think about it....an affordable Audi RS4 delegated to commuting duties (minus the quattro of course). Anyhow, I think a supercharger might be a better option for our engine since that's what a lot of High compression 4 bangahs seem to be running these days. Since I've already owned a turbo car it might be fun to jump the other fence and try out a Supercharger, it would be great for autox since there's no lag!

Jackson already provides a supercharger for the 1.8L Miata. I also mentioned in my email that the Supercharger would be available for use on MP3's and plain Protege 2.0L. Everyone UNITE and email Jackson and pledge our support. Repeat after me, "If you build it they will come"!!!!

Let me know what you think.

Cheers,
Thom

Hey,

Go check out the site www.protegemp3.com under performance. They have the start of a contract with Bell Engineering to design a Turbo Kit for the MP3 that will fit in the P5. You should join it. To be honest, I don't think there is a large enough interest that we'll be able to get more than one kit together. Everyone should try to sign up with the Bell one (I hear these guys are pretty good) and it seems they are offering a reasonable price.

Check it out.

I also heard that next year the MP3 should have a turbo on it. Maybe when can use that to build a turbo setup.

won't thenew motors come out next year making the motors that we have old ? they are going to go higher than a 2.0 and like a 150hp making the whp somthing like over a hundred . I am down for a supercharger ... anybody in here from San Antonio TX let me know ----- fastcatone@aol.com :p

Yea, but I want a supercharger kit not a turbo it. Since our motor is High compression it's not going to be able to take much boost, which would be good for a supercharger since there's no lag. If you go to jacksonracing.com they have dyno charts of the Miata with California emissions and the supercharger. 150 HP at the wheels! That would be all I want from this car, I'm guessing that's even with a stock exhaust. You could gain at least 5-15 HP with an aftermarket exhaust after the supercharger.

If Mazda produces the MP3 with a turbo kit it's going to be a different block. I'm betting they're not going to manufacture and sell a turbo car with 9:1:1 compression ratio.

If they do put a turbo car out next year, and it is lower compression than ours a head swap would probably be the best option if they are compatible.

I believe there will be enough market for a supercharger kit and a turbo kit, they are both very different beasts of their own. Besides Jackson makes the kit for the Miata already!
