sunroof tilt height

has anyone noticed the sunroof tilts just a tiny bit?

there's maybe like a 1" lift that seams to just let in noise rather than air..

i figured it was because of the roof rack, but assuming i take the rack off, is there a way to make it go up higher?

It isn't because of the roof rack, my 2003.5 had no roof rack option and the thing only goes up an inch or so. It really just allows fresh air to get suctioned thru the vents faster and yes, it adds a little noise... I hear the roof racks make the noise even more prevalent.

taking off the racks will make it only marginally quieter... BUT majorly improves the look of the car.

eh' alright, i guess i could just do the whole, opening of the sunroof thing that crazy kids do.

The tilt on the sunroof doesn't let hardly any air circulate. It's really for smokers. The air velocity across the roof creates a low pressure area that will "suck" the smoke out of the car.

Actually it is. It was made for the roof rack in mind then implemented on all P5s. This way they (Mazda) didn't have to buy diff sunroofs.

That's some massive downforce yo! Was it made of aluminum or CF?

Get a moonroof wind deflector and slide the the moonroof open just 2-3 inches. Nice and quiet.

i got the deflector isnt too bad if you have the racks because it kind of looks like its sloping towards the racks. and it makes it alot quieter. One of the easiest things to do (did it when it was my moms car, that was when i was 14)
