Sun is here! Roof is open! Smells Like MILDEW!!!!

Temp Just hit 60's in CT in the past week or so and I figure I would rock the sun roof, which I never was able to before (winter). All great right? Well Driving along and I smell this horrible smell blasting me in the face. I could not figure out what the hell is going on. Finally after realizing that the smell was everywhere I drive to, it must be the car!
So now I am thinking that I have a leak into the roof structure itself. funny thing is that no water damage or smell is in the cabin space and it only stinks with roof open. damn it! what's the deal?

No the A/c has never been on sinsce I bought the car (1/1/05). It is definetly mildew and stagnent water. I would speculate that (having dealt with mold in construction) that there is not alot of water, more like high humidity that can't escape

The A/C goes on when your ventilation is set to defrost, so it was probably on.

there is a TSB on mildew smell in the a/c system. unfortunately mazda realizes it but does not cover under any kinda warranty.
do a seach and you will find what i'm talking about.
one thing that i do is, if i ever use the a/c (rarely), i make sure before i come to the destination a minut before, i shut the compressor off and keep the air flowing. haven't had that musty smell now for a while.
