Suggestions for AM Parts for P5

[Hazardous PR5]

I have a '03 p5 with a little over 100K on it, Already have a Chip and a Weapon R intake on the way, but i need suggestions for parts and places to buy them that get me the most out of my money. I'm not looking to make it stupid fast or show car nice, but want to personalize it while adding some "minor" performance upgrades...

TURBO? really just want the sound...

Exhaust?

Lowering springs? between 1.5" and 2" drop

Short Throw kit? cant find this anywhere... HELP?

Side View Mirrors/Headlights/Taillights?

Aftermarket Grille?




Any and all help would be so very appreciated! I'll be the first to tell you, I'm a n00b!

Turbo sound... only with a real turbo. Plenty of full kits show up in the FS section for around $1000.

As far as springs go, plenty of threads related to drops and whatnot. Best paired with new struts as well.

Mirrors, JDM has ones with blinker lights... not worth the price of addmission if you ask me.

Headlights... Canadian OEM are black from factory. Most take theirs apart and paint instead. Also, Matt V is doing retro-fits that are pure tits.

Tails, Corksport has J-SPEC tails for a stock look: http://www.corksport.com/product-31621.html Other wise there are some altezzas or some kick-ass tinted OEm ones in the FS section.

Grill... there are a few to choose from. DGM is the best, AutoEXE next, then theres cheap knock offs of both that don't have the greatest fitment. There is a kock-off in the FS section as well.

are you saying you just want the sound of a turbo without the actual turbo kit or you want the turbo kit just for the sound? Either way, it's kind of pointless

you know something your eat... lays chips..(rlaugh)... Its more then likely one of those ebay wannaba "chips"... NO ONE makes a chip for our cars that i'm away of. In face come to think of it.. I dont think I've ever seem mention of a epromchip or whatever it is in our ECUs

as far as the turbo goes, if it doesn't make me more power for the money, i won't F*** with it. But if it does, I'd love to have one, especially for the sound. As far the the chip is concerned, its not a performance/ECU chip. Simply it allows a laptop to be plugged into OBD2 for system diagnostics and a rough idea of Dyno charts.

as for cosmetics, i dont want just tinted lights or chrome or black or lights that resemble the stock ones in any way, lol. I want something that looks completely custom and Im having a hard time finding any. One question bout head lights tho, should I find some i like, do i buy just the housing and put what bulbs i want in? or do i buy the housing with bulbs in them? Bc I want HIDs and the whole head light conversion thing has got me bamboozled!

Best route to go to look different, is hit up Matt V for a retro-fit. Best money you can spend on headlights.

Edit: Just incase you are looking at short shifters as well. What this does is reduce the amount of throw between lets say 1st and 2nd. 1 down side is this some times tends to make the shift notchy but most counter that with a weighted shift knob.

The best sites to lok at for parts and mods for the P5 is www.corksport.com and www.protegegarage.com both are good sites with just about all the options you need to make the p5 into a beast. As far as springs go, Protege Garage has the tokico Hp suspension kit that has about a 1.5" drop for 499.99 shipped, that includeds struts.
