Subaru just announced pricing on its hottest of the hot -- the 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STI models.

And since they aren't due in showrooms until September, you'll have plenty of time to try to scrap up the cash.

The redesigned 2011 WRX starts at $25,495 for both the four-door and four-door hatchback models. That's $500 more than the current four-door. Add $795 destination charges to all Subarus.

The 2011 WRX STI version of the four door, with a 305-horsepower engine, will be $32,995 and the hatchback will be $1,000 more. That's an STI in the photo, above.

The WRX gets a different look for the new model year:

There is the addition of new front and rear bumpers, wide front fenders and quarter panels, and a WRX logo side fender badge. The sedan adds a rear chrome satin finish and quad tailpipes. The WRX receives new dark gray alloy wheels paired with wider summer-performance tires. Additionally, all WRX models now have six upgraded speakers and come with steering wheel control switches for audio and Bluetooth functions.

Subaru of America continues to enjoy record sales after its best-ever sales year in 2009, with June sales up 35% year-to-date.

I find it simply stunning that the WRX has basically NEVER changed its MSRP in NINE YEARS! The 2002 msrp was $24k.
