Post on how to run amp wiring:

http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4661

The best way for you to hook up your subs is to run speaker wire from behind the head unit back, and connect to speaker level inputs on amp. Run Power wire on the opposite side. The two above posts go into much more detail...I have done it all myself, so you can PM or E-Mail me if you would like.

how far are you from downtown Philidelphia? I am here at Sungard doing testing and should be done tomorrow afternoon and flight doesnt leave til friday morning so I have all night to come over and help you out if you come pick me up? PM Me.

On a side note...if you visit my CarDomain Page, you won't see any of the audio install. I did that for theft purposes... (sssh)

chiguy: i cant find those little keys to get my headunit out.. and i tried the butterknife thing lol.. didnt get too far with that. i already looked at that how to and it helped on the power wire, but its very vague on the ground wire and speaker wires. so anything you can type here to help me would be awesome. im goin back and forth between my comp and car.

deansweet: i got a full time job for the summer thats ending friday, so i wont be able to get there tomorrow. thanks for the thought tho.

I was able to find the keys at my local Wal-Mart...Scosche makes them, they are essentially two U-shaped pieces of metal, a coathanger or narrow screwdriver would also work, but the keys make it a bit easier...

so if i just bend a coathanger in a u shape for either side i can slide them in and just pull the unit out?? i also PMed you to get your attention, but just keep writing in this thread. uhhh also, where does the ground wire come from and go to? and what is used to connect it? excuse my newbness with these questions, im just tryin to learn. thanks for the help tho guys. keep the tips comin!!!

I think I should have checked your homepage out before I posted the last one... (hand) you actually need the Kenwood Keys...most audio shops have those laying around. The U-Shaped pieces of metal are for the stock radio in every other car. You can also use RCA cables run to the back for the Amp input, but you will need to upgrade your power wire, which I already see you will do. This is assuming nothing was changed to the stock MazdaSpeed Audio System... (shrug)

well im just planning on keeping the kenwood amp for the speakers with the wiring it already has. which ones are the rca cables in the pic i have up there?? so they run from the amp to where??? keep all the info comin. thanks.

You don't need to pull the headunit out. Just unplug the RCA's from the stock amp (it only powers the sub, the headunit powers all the speakers), and plug them into the new amp.

Then run power cable from the battery to the amp, putting the fuse as close to the battery as possible.

Ground the amplifier to the chassis somewhere.

just any metal part??? where would you suggest?? i love you jersey lol u just made my day. i still gotta get out to a monthly meet. after i got in trouble with my parents i never made it out to that one lol. oh well, someday.

The RCA Plugs are On the same side as the power, labeled low input...

hey its almost 1 now, me and my friend had some problems. first the wire kit i bought was missing the fuse. so we had to rig one with a fuse he had and some smaller wire. then it still didnt work. and we were like wtf?? we figured out the bolt i used to connect to the ground wasnt that tight. we tightened it, turned on my system, and HOLY SHIIIITTTT!!!!! i already knew how it would sound cause hes basically got the same system with a different amp, but still it sounds incredible. i recommend these subs and amp to everyone. thanks everyone for you help, i really appreciate it. now im goin to sleep lol.
