Stupid rich people

didn't know you needed to know a brake from a wheel if you were in a banking business or other corperation that has nothing to do with cars and the most you've ever done to a car is pay someone to do something about the low blinker fluid.

man if you want to stick up for rich ignorant people by all means go ahead. it just pisses me off when you see an undeserving person driving an expensive car who doesnt know the difference between the window and their seat. i was in austin last weekend and i watched this woman driving an m3 squeeze the car between two SUVs with no more htan a foot on each side. so your are telling me that s*** like that doesnt anger you?!

I tend to care very little about the actions of other people, especially ones that have no effect on me.

Also, car enthusiasts make up probably a little less than 1% of the car buying public. Most people could give two s**** about what car they drive, be it expensive or not. Assuming you had worked your ass off over your life to amass some sort of wealth, even if you weren't into cars would you buy an 82 civic hatch or a new m3?

I didn't mean to generalize. I was just complaining about people who don't know a damn about cars but can afford them. Most rich celebrities, not all, would buy a Ferrari for the image. You or I, I assume, would buy the Ferrari would the refinement and history that it represents. And props to Jay Leno. He actually does some work on his cars. And makes sure they're well taken care of. Didn't mean to step on toes. I just calls em as I see em. (and Spears has always been gross, a Federline's a loser)

If I knew nothing about cars, and went to a BMW dealership looking to spend around $50K, I'd walk out with a 545i, not an M3.

I'm not sticking up for rich people. Hell no. I'm just saying they volue and care about other things than cars and how they work. If they buy a hot car it's only to show off and say they have money. Do I defend that? Hell no. I don't like rich people in expensive cars cause they think they own the roads and they are better than other people.

Well I have to break in just for a sec. I hear people all the time dogging Kevin about being a leach. I don't think he's a leach, she chaced him. Be it he didn't run far and she didn't have to try hard to get him. But she did go to him. And there isn't one of you that wouldn't do the same if some rich sex goddest came to you. Oh and he might not have been rich before, but he is now and if she leaves him will be then too.

I wouldn't.

My father is what you guys would consider one of these stupid rich people. He drives nice cars because he likes to drive nice cars. He's not an automotive enthusiast by any measure, and could care less what people think of him (this is a fairly common traight among the wealthy, excluding celebrities).

Currently he drives a Jag XJ8. He bought it becuause it was an 04 leftover and didn't have nav or HIDs. He got it for almost $10k off sticker. He didn't buy it to impress the ricer crowd or some ***** with proteges, or to impress the neighbors, and he could certainly give a crap less about car enthusiasts (like myself, I make fun of him constantly for driving an "old man" car lolz). He bought it because he has to drive every once in a while, and he can afford something nice.

He does keep it fairly clean, and performs the scheduled maintenance. He doesn't know or care how the trick adjustable suspension works. He doesn't need to. He doesn't care about variable valve timing, or the cool bonded aluminum structure. He cares that its comfortable and can get out of its own way on the highway.

Most people who buy nice cars buy them because they're nice. Did you buy your protege to impress people? Or did you get it because proteges are cheap and fun to drive and get good gas mileage? I bought mine because it was the newest car I could afford that I didn't hate.

I don't know where I was headed with that, I just hate the "rich people don't buy nice stuff because hey can afford to, they buy it to show off" mentality.

thats cause they do. If your dad was truely rich do you think he ould have bought a leftover Jag? for heavens sake no! especially one without all the options.
