Stupid Mistake today

3 weeks and the MP5 is already hurting..

I went into work today and in the parking lot we have these rock pieces infront of each parking space, so as usual i park about 8" from it. I pull up the e-brake, shut off the radio, and then, for some reason, take my foot off the clutch before i shut off the car (I usually keep it in 1st gear when parked). Bad Move.... The car stalls, but while doing so bucks about 1 foot foward and up onto this rock ledge. I back away slowly and look at the damage.

The rock sliced a piece of the bottom front off and made a few scuff marks on the lower spoiler.

This sucks a lot since I have no money to get it fixxed, i was thinking a lip might cover up the damage, but im not sure if it's too high.

any pics. i had some similar damage from what it sounds like and my lip covered it up

Sucks dude, you P5s need to have the little black plastic catch-all-the-scratches lip like the MP3s got. It's saved me before in a similar situation.

kymp5- I just tried to take pics but it is almost on the lower part of the bumper, so it's really hard to get a shot of it. Let me try and find a picture of bumper and i'll use paint to point out the damage.

cool, the lip that i have covers almost all the paint up the the bottom of the lower grill and fog lights.

ive only scratched the bottom a bit. its impossible to have as a daily driver and never scratch it. i have it off right now for repairs and fresh paint but will put it back on in march or april

here is like what the damage is

The line on the right is the crack and the mark in the middle is where it is scuffed. I think a body shop would be able to fix it possibly.

If anyone knows someone around the MA area who has a sunlight silver bumper that has maybe upgraded to a body kit or something, please let me know.

the dgm/autoexe lip would definately cover that.. see attached pic.. the blue area is what would be covered..

of course, it would also be 1-2 inches lower with the lip and the dgm is fiberglass.. so if you pulled a stunt like that again with the lip on, you will completely destroy the lip :D

good luck.. i rubbed my front bumper on a curb backing out of a parking spot and covered it up with a dgm front lip.. and now i love the look with the lip anyway..

not right now, i dont have the lip on the car to take another pic either. ill look through what i have and see if i can find a closer pic

Hrm....Interesting.

How much would one of these DGM lips run?

I think i could get a whole new aftermarket bumper for around 3xx, so im not sure which would be better. I think if i can find someone with a stock bumper ill buy that and throw that on.

there are several lips out there and some can be had for good prices. the dg one is around 400 i think, but its carbon fiber. there is a gb for a f/g lip and exe replica grill for 275

Would this totally replace the broken area, or just snap ontop of it with double sided tape or something?

Just looking at where it's busted, I don't know how much a lip would fix the problem man. It's more expensive but my solution will definitely fix the problem. Save a bit and get a front clip. I have seen that they start at around $300 - $500. I know that answer is s***, sorry man.

I know exactly what you're saying. I was thinking that maybe i could find someone around here that has gotten a full body kit and has the front clip lying around and i could buy it off them. I think it would be a much better solution.

the lip would only hide the problem so to fix it correctly i would have to agree with brian
