stock wheels are 215/45/18...so I'm pretty sure they won't

The stock tires will fit on a 18x7.5 wheel, some people put them on 18x8 but they are stretched at that point but it can still be done.

The tires will fit easily enough. It looks weird, though, IMO. The wheel is still slightly smaller than the tire cross-section (25 mm or so). I considered that combo before I found my RX-8 wheels. I was looking at some Enkeis that are 18x7.5

The stock Potenzas are rated to safely fit 18" wheels from 7" to 8" wide. People are running them on RX-8 wheels just fine which are 18"x8".

Agreed that they will fit just fine. The even wider wheels with 215 stretched are a euro tuner thing that is quite popular over that way I hear. But for drive quality you should be all set. Do you have some new wheels for the car?
