I like your idea. Looks pretty good. What are your thoughts on a cover so to speak for it? Are you going to paint it, carpet it, vinyl it? I'll be interrested to see what it looks like as you get farther along.

Photoshop update on what I plan to do this is just the amp side, but you get the picture the sub side will be done the same way. By using 4 amps 1 for each sub they do not even run warm to the touch with the volume at high levels for a long period of time, so the amps getting a good airflow isnt much of a factor here. I want the amps to sit "flush" with the carpet while all you see is the amp its self. The subs will be done the same way all you'll see is the subs and the "false wall" will fit the contors of the interior of the trunk.

A few things.

1. PLEASE clean up that wiring ASAP! When you do, use screw hole wire ties and secure the wiring to the wood to keep everything organized.

2. You need to use Y adapters for the RCAs and each amp needs to get a left and a right signal so you will need 3 Y adapters per side or 6 in total. IF you only give the amp one, you will only get 1/2 of the recorded bass in some tracks and you will always loose output as the amp depends on getting both a left and a right signal to give you the proper perfomance.

3. If you can fit it, you should get another amp to run the front speakers.

I remember a while back (like 6 years ago) there was a guy who made line drivers designed for SPL setups. The had a single 2-ch input and numerous outputs for connecting to many amps. You should really use something similar to get the most out of your setup. The way you have it now, your amps are getting a very low input voltage. Unfortunately I can't find any commercial products that will drive 8 channels (2 for each of your amps).

Thanks for the input guys. I plan on cleaning up the wiring as already stated Also I'm running the amps in mono mode with left side input only all seems to be working fine (remember I have 2 subs on the (r) rca and 2 on the (l) rca so I get all the bass reproduction) I will look into your suggestions though. I'll take pictures when I have everything completed and post them up.

If the subs share a common space then they MUST get teh same signal so you cannot use L channel for some amps and Right for another. Also, although you get output, you loose a considerable amount of output in only using one RCA.

Would this crossover work for the job?

No, because the crossover settings are different for each output channel. I believe that is designed for front hp, front bp, rear hp, and sub lp. That's the way all of the AudioControl units are also.
