Stock HU Watts

I've searched and searched.... does anyone know how many watts our stock head unit produces?

real un clipping watts, around 10. bulls*** aftermarket deck numbers, around 20. Just depends on how you look at things realisticly or marketing.

You gotta be kidding me??? We have a 20-watt stereo? That can't be right.... a portable boom-box has more watt's than that...

I tried to research it, but Mazda doesn't post any significant information on the stock stereo. I would have thought it would be somewhere along 100-watt's...

10 watts per channel. A boom box 1 also inflates power specs and 2 has alot more room to work with for it amplifiers.

I have read posts from guys who tested the radio output.

It's about a whopping 14 watts MAX, and serious distortion (over 1%) starts to set in at about 8 watts. (per channel)

So using "RMS" numbers, the P5 stereo is a healthy 32 watt system. And using "Pyramid audio" calculations, you've got a heart-stopping 56 watts of pure power movng those massive 25 watt max, PAPER cone speakers.
