Hey erbody. I'm a brand new poster, but I've been browsing for a few days now... I want to keep my stock hu and get the cd changer to rca modulator to hook up my xm. That much I know - what I would like some input on is what to add in the way of speakers/amp to help out the weak factory unit. I'm not looking to shake my nuts and bolt loose - just a good clean relatively loud sound. Bear in mind I have two motorcycles in the garage and a wife who is in need of bling-bling every now and then so I don't want to go crazy all at once. Thanks for the help. Also, I'm a quick learner, but audio and electronics are new to me so please start slow.

Welcome

It was an idea I had to help out guys just like yourself. Basicly, those that partciipated listed out what they think would make a great system for under $1000. They also list where to get the products.

Its in the regular audio section, but don't worry, we won't hold having an MSP against you. :D

speeking of replacing audio stuff in the msp anybody know anything about dual subs? circuit city has a sale on 2 12" dual subs a sub box and 460watt amp for 139.99.

Hey I live in Sanford right down the road from you. I install a lot of car stereos and build the boxes. If you want to come bye and check out my system in my car and talk about what you should put in the msp you are more than welcome. I can also get a pretty good deal on car stereo equipment so let me know if you are interested. You can IM me and I will give you my phone number.

Equivalent to radio shack and Kmart audio.
The subs really aren't a sub and the amp is far short of 460 watts. But then again, for 139, what do you expect?

It should sound crapastic :D

I believe what you are looking for is "craptastic." Anyway, thanks for the tips - I've spent hours upon hours of searching online (reading a lot of 1sty coincidentally), and I think I'm getting an idea of the right sys for me:

stock hu (for that WOW factor)
JL e4300 (available on ebay new $?)
cdt component 6.5" through thezeb
or to be lazy and save some dough 6800cs
and my sub will be the icing on the cake,
but at this point it doesn't matter to me if
it's chocolate or vanilla

I think that's about as inexpensively as I can get the SQ I'm looking for.

Bear drop me an email. corndogge9@hotmail.com

Sounds like a good setup, be sure to listen to the speakers before purchasing.

indeed, listen. I've yet to be impressed with cdt's. dependign ont he model there's likely better ifnot just more reliable options, eitherway, listen to speakers listent o as many as you can. make a demodisc, and jsut carry it with you if you must...

also, yea, you have a P5, yes? quick jump forums before all these bastards inhere with their goddamn wooshy and gobbly sounds run you out ;)

Oh, is there a seperate water fouintain for us p5ers too? Sorry, I thought this was general audio. That's what I get for staying up past my bed time. My mistake. (drunk) Oh yeah, that probably had something to do with it too.
