I'm picking up a new MS3 sport tomorrow with the stock 6 speaker configuration. I'm planning on doing an install in the near future consisting of: 1) Infinity reference tweeters/door speakers + crossover for front doors and 2) Alpine amp that handles speaker level inputs mounted under drivers seat. I had this system in my Pro5 and it was great, and totally stealth from would be vandals.
I was wondering how the front door tweeter and door speaker are wired from the headunit.
In the Protege5 that i'm trading in (and that I just stripped last night), there are separate wires going to the tweeter and door speaker- but i'm not sure where they came from. I'm guessing that they are wired in parrallel, and it looks like Mazda just threw in a passive crossover before the signal hits the tweeter. When I installed my new speakers/crossover in that car I took the signal intended for the door speaker and just left the tweeter signal alone. Is this the right way to do it? Should I have summed the signals going to the tweeter/door speakers?
Thanks much.
