Steering noise when turning right AND accelerating

I have a 2009 Mazda 5 Sport that makes a grinding noise when turning to the right and accelerating. The noise is not there when I turn to the left or when I'm not on the accelerator pedal. It sounds like something rubbing against the tire but that doesn't explain why it's only there when I accelerate. Any thoughts?

Bad CV joint? Not sure how dependent a bad CV joint is on acceleration?

Had that in my Buick, but mine was turning left and accelerating. It was the CV joint. Went ahead and replaced both, problem solved.
