Status of everyone's n/a build?

either way...the problem has been occuring with a local ducati dealership...they have a Monster 620 dark still from 05...and they are only asking 5 grand for it...so I am a bit torn for a while...its a perfect bike for me because I don't want a hellishly fast crotch rocket, but I don't want a cruiser either...and that 620 is a lot slower than a triumph speed triple...If I buy it, it won't have the standalone until fall probably (I would use the standalone savings on a down payment)...but if I don't buy the bike, I hope to have the standalone in august...

get the bike, **** the protege.

If its brand new for 5 G's and you dont buy it, you suck! especially since its the dark, they are SOO NICE!
 
Yeah it is nice...Leo pipes included too, sounds about as good as anything...

but either way, I won't give up on the protege at all...I will still get the standalone and everything else until it is finished...the ducati just delays things slightly...

I shouldn't say new though...it was a demo they had for a few weeks...but it only has 125 miles on it, all of which were by the dealerships owner(they have only had the bike since early july, and no one other than me has been serious about it)...so that is why it is nearly 2 grand off...

I don't know...I am pretty comfortable with the payments because the p5 is already paid off...who knows...I'll see what I can do...
 
Go for it, the darks are beautiful bikes, especially the monster! And 5 grand for that low of miles and the leo pipes, you cant argue with that!
 
I'm getting my Martelius header soon. Although I will be modifying it to the extent of longer primaries, and a larger and longer collector. I have lots of time though, as I'd like to do my emissions test in February before installing the header. I'm also getting a Magnaflow muffer...the stock Civic muffler isn't cutting it for me anymore...

Yes I would! Thats not really next on my list but if the deal was right I could change plans.

Oh and my build is in my sig. I got a LONGGGG way to go.
 
so hey my name is sergio i have seen this thread here for a while and i thaught about going turbo but i just ended up saying **** it to mutch money so this is what my n/a conses of i got obx header,aem intack,i also got a nice ported and polish head with stainles steel valves ,eibach valve springs, ur pully ,and picking up my intack manifold from the shop tomorrow its getting port and polish with the vtcs removal also got a msp t/b getting ported hoppfully it will get out the shop friday i also got other stuff to but i guess when it get out i let ya know becouse i be asking alot of ?

Hey I have an 02 protege 5.....Injen cold air intake, catback exhaust...My car is in the shop right now getting 10.7 to 1 ratio high compression pistons in it and new cam gears, intake and exhaust cam shafts..i am also gettin my head ported and polished...can anyone tell me about maybe how much more power i will have when i get it back???
 
speaking of pulleys where can I get a LIGHTER crank pulley. I don't want a smaller one just lighter.

I have to ask this question. When you guys say you have a port and polished head are you just doing the head? I know with the V8s the trick is to P/P the head to match the size of the intake and the exhuast manifold. And also do the intake.

I see somany guys saying they did just the head and I can't see why.

im also running the j-spec cames pics will be up next week
 
P&P is just a term to open up the runners and smooth them out. get rid of the manufacturing imperfections. you never polish a part of them, but that term has just stuck.

mazdarace - hope you have an ecu in that equation!

I know they don't put a shine in it more just smooth it out. The question I wanted to know is are you all matching the ports (INTAKE=HEAD=EXHUST)?
Or are you just opening the head?
