every time i get out of my car it shocks the hell out of me. the longer the drive the worse it shocks me. i didnt mind at first but its really getting old. anybody else have this problem or maybe a solution.
thanx

I had that happen in another, car. I and a ford contour as a rental for a few months, and everytime I went near the thing it would shock me. Usually on the way out after driving. It is like being on an episode of the simpson's when Lisa was testing to see if the Hamster is smarter then Bart.

Don't know what causes it, but it gets tired.

When you get out of your car, touch the metal part on the top of the door and hold in as you get out. No more shocks.

Otherwise, you could try to get some anti static spray and try that.

tried it. if i hold it, it either shocks me when i let go to shut it or if i move it shocks me. spray might work. dunno. thanks.

it does this because of the weather. this time of year it always happens

It hurts like Hell!!! I figured out how to solve the problem! Always ride with a passenger! Make them get out first! They get shocked, you don't. Figured that out with my girlfriend one weekend. Makes me giggle every time I see her get out. ZAP! :D

Happened to me all the time in my old Honda Accord....Easy way to solve it is the anti-static spray, but you have to redo it every once in a while....the other option might be one of those anti-static strips that you see on some cars that grounds it per say...dont know if that works, but i think it might

Frady it's the dry weather that we are having I get shocked as well. What till some rain comes then see what happens.

This is a case of......DUN, DUN, DUN, "CARS FIGHTING BACK!!!"

They have been driven hard for too many years and now they are "Fightning Back".

Yes ladies and gentelmen, these cars have had enough and they are not going to take it anymore!

It is time to fight back!

They are tired of being abused and they are tired of their owners not changing their oil every 3,000 miles.

You never know when these disgrunteled cars will strike again, so be carefull and for heavens sake, Treat you car with care!

As for those who don't heed these warnings,(you know who you are)BEWARE!!! HA HA HA HAHAH!!! HA HA HAHAHAHA!!!

Just had to make fun of this one :D

I don't know if the weather is the actual cause of the static. The rental car I had, it did it through the summer, which is really humid.

I personally think it is a grounding issue in the car. There might be electrical issues and the car's body is producing an abnormal charge or potential. Talk to your dealer and ask him. I thought it was strange in that rental and it never went away.

That anti static strap would work, but only the old crown victoria's with old people driving them.
