stater issues, I think...

In the past month it has taken longer than normal but nothing like today where I held the key and after 2-3 seconds it did not start. Round two it fired right up. It did the same thing when I left work. I live in Southern California so it was 70 or so this morning and 85 or so in the afternoon. I tested the battery off and it registered 12.85 volts. With the engine running my multimeter registered 13.54 volts. So it looks like the battery, the alternator, and the voltage regulator are all doing their jobs. So is my starter going out or starter solinoid? I am guessing this as the last 5 times I have tried to start it, it will not start after a couple seconds and then on the second attempt it fires right up. Or am I way off base here?

Not sure then. Mine had done that for a while, but it would idle real rough and sometimes shut down. I had a high pressure fuel pump failure, but i don't think that's what happening to you.

Yeah, that sounds like a different issue for sure. I posted on another forum and someone suggested swapping the plugs as they are original (78k miles). I did the front ones and it looks like I need to pull the entire intake manifold to get to the back ones... that will be this weekend and not a after work thing.
