SSAFC Wiring Question

I FINALLY got to install my SSAFC yesterday and I'm digging the results. But I noticed that the pink/blue wire one my ecu looks to have been spliced and another wire is jointing from it....I'm assuming from a previous DIYer.

It's a tan color wire....is this a factory thing?

I don't think anything should be going to that wire. IIRC, that's either MAF or o2. Follow the tan wire and see where it goes.

now that I think about it, it is a shielded wire. I went and looked at it earlier. That specific wire has a shield around it. The tan part is just a jacket for the shielding. The actual strands(shield) is there to prevent any extra noise(interference) from other wires for a clean signal

I guess we know the answer now...lol

Mystery solved!

It just seemed so out of place....figured it was def some inherited issues.

Thanks for the help.

So does this need to be connected? You are talking about the (mine is white) white insulator with the pink and blue wire and a stranded wire inside of the white insulator? Sorry to bump this old post, but I'm having this issue as well. Should I connect it or leave it be?
