Just wondering if I should switch this out before going in for an oil change or at least the stock airbox as it is less noticeable

is your TIP black? if so i doubt they would notice it with the stock air box, i would never take it in with just an intake

no my TIP is not black.....think they would really notice the TIP if the stock airbox is on?

if its just an oil change, then i suggest DIY. easier than taking off and then putting back on your full sri setup

My dealer is always running a $19.95 oil change special, which has so far prevented me from taking on the job myself (yes, I still use dino-oil). Anyway, I have a red anodized AEM intake and have never had a problem with the dealer. However, I suppose that might change if I brought it in with a problem.

Taking my risks.....at the dealer now...and I totally would change it myself except you can't in my apt complex parking lot. I used to love changing my own oil....miss that man/car bond....sigh

Time to move! :D

FML!!!!!! So got my oil changed and was waiting for my wife outside of her work for lunchbreak and out comes the smoking exhaust.......double sigh.....now I have to go stock and bring it in and all my wife said is......I told you not to mess with your car! I wanted to pull my hair out....but I bit my tongue and smiled back at her

Meh you can buy your own oil and have any place you wan't change it for cheap. Firestone changes my oil / replaces filter for 12 bucks . . . They lift the car / do it right in front of me so im assured everything is done properly. Not to mention I look under there to make sure my exhaust isn't falling off or anything like that.

Its just an oil change so your dealer won't give you problems about it. But next time you have an issue they will know you were modded . . .

Should only take 30 minutes to replace the stock intake . . . Annoying that you have the problem though. Just imagine if you had a full exhaust and a FMIC . . .

But I really wonder...I have totally stock exhaust....only thing I have is sri and tip.....and it just started after a dealership oil change.......hmmmm wonder if they used the right oil

If you don't specify otherwise they dump regular nonsyn oil in there . . . Thats what is advised in the manual im pretty sure.

I had my first oil change done at 3K at my dealer. They put nonsynthetic in there and charged me 70 bucks. Thats more than what I pay for syn oil changes.

Yeah...I specified them to use synthetic.....and on the parts list was mobil 1 synthetic...but the weight wasnt listed...just wondering if they used 5w instead of 10w

it wasn't bad....because they only charge me $70 for a synthetic oil change which would cost me around $50 to do myself....so I figure I spend $20 to have them do it and keep it on record so I don't have to worry about it.

Ok I checked and there was the right amount of oil......so I put on the stock airbox and inlet....got to work today after a good interstate drive and let it idle for a good 5-7 minutes.....low and behold....no exhaust smoke...if there was it was very little as I did see some exhaust but it was cold out so it seemed like a normal amount coming out and it wasnt blue. What the hell is all I gotta say...why would a sri and tip create exhaust smoke?

Well it was definitely blue smoke yesterday when I noticed it billowing out the back and it wreaked of burned oil....a normal amount of white today when I let it run so I am guessing just the condensation of the air

I just keep questioning and pondering why the SRI/TIP made the turbo leak that much oil (shrug) and yes I already miss the added noise and power from the SRI/TIP.....I went down the interstate with a frown on my face as I heard not a peep from the turbo spooling....I need it to start smoking so I can get myself a new turbo
