SR Motorsports Exhaust

I was just reading through Turbo & High-Tech Performance Magazine (JAN 2002, Vol. 18, NO.1)and came across something of interest. On page 64 there is an advertisement for a catback exhaust for the MP3 (as well as one for the Protege 5) from SR Motorsports.com. I went to their website but didn't find anything about it. I just called this afternoon and spoke with a sales person who says the system will be available in about 3 weeks. He also said that they will be coming out with other products for our car as well. What they are I don't know. Somehow I forgot to ask. Just thought I should let you all know.

Yeah, I've been mentioning that exhaust for a while, but no one seemed interested. SR is somewhere in the bay area, which means they're near me. I've been planning to take a trip over there one day. But, I'm too damn lazy....

apexi, it would be great if u could go and take a look, or ask them about their price.
also, if its for a mp3, i suppose we dont have to do any kind of modification to the exhaust in order to fit.

im really interested on this system.

I have seen the systems for the FD rx7 and don't like the welds too much or the finish.

They look the same. SR is located near Pleasanton, only 20 mins. from me. I hope that APEX and I can shoot up there to check it out. Possibly get you guys a deal if interested. For that much money I would wait for the Racing Beat system.

well my opinion on SR is very bad right now. their customer service sucks. i emailed them a total of 5 times now and i havent heard one reply. it really pisses me off when a company has people coming to them and they cant even email something back. and when the mp3 market is a little smaller than the rx7 market they cant afford to lose costomers. i base a lot of my purchases on customer service. if they dont know or cant or wont help me i say i can find a better company out there.

A few questions ARD MP5. You say "for that kind of money" when you talked about the exhaust from SR Motorsports; how much is it exactly? (I think you're talking about the one for the RX-7, right?) Is it cheaper than the $495 Racing Beat may ask? & Do you, or anyone else for that matter, know anymore than I do about when the Racing Beat Exhaust is coming out? (Considering that I have absolutely no clue) Any info you can give me is appreciated. Thanks

I'll try to give them a call and see what their hours are so I can try to schedule some time for me to get down there with the Digicam. Hopefully they'll have a demo or something in that direction that Rishie and I can gok at We'll keep you guys posted.
