Spyware to the extreme!

OMG I have never in all my porn watching, software looking sites ever come across something like this.
Went looking around at different hint pages for NASCAR 2005 chase for the cup, and click one site.
Within 1 minute it went completely nuts!
Over 240 spyware installs, processes started poping up left and right without any notification.
Shut the computer off, and still cleaning out the reg file and drives from all this s***.

Wow, I am completely speechless at the degree in which this site started slamming this chit down.

I'd give the site but I don't want anyone to copy it and use it in other URLs, cause my gawd a normal computer user would be lost if this happen.

Yep also just realize I had the firewall off for some reason, must have been playing a online game earlier. Normally switch it back on, but geez I am so lost for words.

search and destory has worked well but I still like going through my reg file and seeing what else is stuck away.

I recently helped a friend with his computer and there was something on there that detected adware/search and destory from installing the .dll libary which contains how to get rid of it....sneaky bastages.

Because, unfortunately, some of us need ActiveX and firefox doesn't support it. I do understand that this is one the major issues with IE though... doh!

another firefox user checking in. check out the pre release of 1.0 is out though i have not upgraded yet. the extensions are really where firefox shines.

it really is the superior browser

i am a computer idiot. how do i go about cleaning out my reg file?

also i dunno how i got this but on any window that i open on the computer i have an extra row of tools below the address tool bar. it has all these coloured buttons with pull down menus labelled pharmacy, gambling, casino, finance, adult etc etc, when i press these buttons it opens IE and goes to a weird search engine link page. how do i get rid of this? i've run norton and adaware arleady and both don't pick it up!

LOL I know, owned big time. Getting this stuff is annoying but it happens, this is the first time where I have seen it attack so aggressively. Literally just sitting there looking at the pages then BAM harddrive kicks into high gear. Open the task manager at just start watching all these damn processes coming left and right. Within one minute went from a clean computer (according to Spybot/adware software) to over 270.

Got most it clean out, still combing through the reg files for anything else.

Another great software is HiJackThis, allows users to quickly glance at the files installed for IE and get rid of any unwanted ones.

Also Bazooka Scanner as it will tell you want it is and give you a step by step on how to clear it out. Very good for the average user to save them from having to look around.

Actually some of the things on here affected Firefox. It is only a matter of time, once it becomes extremely popular then people will start affected it.
