Springs on blown struts immediately WTF!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't even need a compressor honestly. My buddy and I did it by standing on the spring and facing it toward a wall when taking off the mount. Not the safest way to do it but it was honestly not a problem. WHen putting it back on, we just had one guy push the mount down and the other screw the bolt on. It's a lot easier to put the mount back on since the springs are shorter. Just make sure the spring is sitting right.

I went to the local autoparts store and took advantage of the tool loaner program. Lots of places have this kind of thing.

You could do that too. I was broke as a joke when I did mine and couldn't even afford the deposit that gets refunded which was like 50 bucks or something lol. That came with being a broke high school kid.

Spoke with shane at cobb said he has never had any one blow struts with their kit and deff. not immediately after being installed. I suppose I could have done this with hand tools or whatever but the reason I took it there is because I work about 4 12 hour midnight shift a week. I thought I would just pay and get to enjoy the few days I have off a week. Regrettably I trusted them more than myself now it is just turning into a major headache. The owner is supose to call me today lets see if I hear from him. (argh)

Owner never called but they said to bring it back down friday again and this time I will be waiting there the whole time since I have no ride. (boom08)

Measured again after driving home from work passenger side is just a hair over 1/4 inch taller than driverside. Im not gona die driving if springs arent seated correctly am I lol I just drive to and fro work about 5 miles each way until friday. Should I tell them I want it realligned if the passenger isnt seated right?

you wont die, it will just make a bunch of noise. You should tell them you are taking your car somewhere else.

Okay so I took it back again Im in the same situation they say it is the struts(huh) They said "they took it apart" and it was seated right. Im just gona crawl in a hole and die. I guess il get coilovers if what they say is true (pissed)

"They said"? You didn't demand to be out there when they took it apart? No way in hell some mechanic I suspect of being incompetent to begin with is taking my car apart without my beady little eyes watching the process.

go somewhere else and when the new place finds that the springs were in fact installed improperly give the original place the invoice

Or have them give you an estimate and take it to the original place and advise that you have had a second opinion.

so you didn't bring up the fact that half of your car is sitting .25" higher than one side? i'm pretty sure any shop would realize they fk'd up if you just pulled out a tape measure and showed them right there.

yeah i told them that they chalked that up to "spring stetteling" lol place is rediculous

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but 0.25 inch difference in ride height is pretty normal. The weight of the car is not spread out evenly and slight differences in ride height at every corner is expected.

Could it be possible that the springs are seated correctly but you have a busted top hat or a suspect bushing in the suspension causing the noises you`re hearing

well yeah that too. The problem is that alot of places will charge a diagnostic fee and wave it IF you get the work done there.

This is true. I am spoiled to a performance suspension shop here that custom tunes suspensions for Mazda's. They have free estimates and are on it for diagnosing issues. Rates aren't bad either.
