Spring Meet/Install Day March 18th

Okay, well if you've been following my other thread, Tokico HP Install Help, then you might already have some idea about this possible Spring meet. Centsless and I are going to be installing the struts on Saturday, March 18th. We would like to start the install around 10am. Between the both of us, we'll have all the tools necessary.

Our idea was to turn this strut install into a possible spring meet. People wanting to help or simply observe (i.e. hang out) during the install can show up around 10ish or there after. For others who can't make it that early, or just don't want to come that early, they can show up later, let's say around noon.

As far as activities, we don't have any planned. I'm more concerned about getting the struts installed, so if there is enough interest in making this into a spring meet, then I'll let everybody else decide what we can do as a group.

Now our dilemma is that we don't have an enclosed garage here in Columbus to do this install. I know it's not totally necessary to have a garage, but it would help us just in case the weather turns sour on that particular day. If anybody in the Columbus area can help with this problem, it would be much appreciated.

Okay, I think that is all the basic details. If this date works well for everybody, then let the planning begin! (thumb)

Pretty sure it won't fly but I'm in the Tech ed program here at OSU and we have a garage on west campus w/ a lift and everything. Is the 18th part of spring break? because if it is it probably won't be open. I don't think they would want a lot of people out there either. Like maybe 5 max. I'll look into it some more though and let you know.

That would be awesome! And yes, the 18th is the beginning of spring break...basically the first weekend after finals. But find out whatever you can and if it's even possible, maybe Centsless and I can work in another date if it is.

And Amy, I thought of you first when wanting to do this install, just don't feel like driving south to do it and then north to Lima when I go home for spring break...but at least you were first to mind, right?

Unfortunately no. We're trying to keep this install local. But thanks for the offer!

I did have one guy in Blacklick (east side of Columbus) offer his garage on the Columbus Racing forums. He'll only lone it to us if the weather is nice, so that he can park his car outside. Sort of defeats the purpose of having a garage I think but I told him that I would keep him in mind when the date gets closer. I don't think he wants a bunch of people there either.

I understand. Lima is about a hour and 45 from my house so I totally understand.. I would still be up to help though.

I was thinking tho, even if we can't meet up during this install, maybe we could meet up the weekend after when I actually have the car all put back together? I would honestly enjoy the pictures more lol Just a thought...

Hhaha I would love to but we will be in Chicago that weekend for HIN, maybe you should just go with us hahaha. Friday the 24th through Sunday the 26th of March...

Ohhh yeah! Forgot about that...I definitely want to go there assuming the car is finished. Any more info on that? How long you staying and where? Times you're leaving...yada yada yada?

Tenative plan is to leave Cincy around 10:30 and be through Indy by Noon. Then we are meeting up with the Michigan people in Porter,In around 2pm. If you wanted to you could meet us in Indy around noon on the 24th..... We are staying with another forum members parents in Chicago, although I think a couple people are getting rooms at a local hotel too. We are tenatively planning on leaving Chicago around 2-3pm on Sunday to get back to Cincy around 9-10pm or so... Let me know if you want to go with us. As of right now we have at least 3 mazdas driving up there, plus the michigan people we meet up with....

I talked to my g/f who will be with me most of spring break, she really likes the idea. And depending on whether or not Kyle goes to Florida, he might come along too. My buddy (Cletus) with the Evo8 sounded somewhat interested also. So I will get back with you when the weekend gets closer

Here is the tenative schedule. I'm not sure who all is going from down here anymore, at this point it could possibly be only me driving from cincy. Then I'm not driving back here cuz I'm going to drive to Dallas on Sunday lol .
