Spring Meet April 4th in Louisville

I know all about it, man. I have done several shows in my time. When I was a single, childless person, I had a lot more income to throw into the vehicles. :D

There is a time in one's life that s(he) becomes childless, again. I'm at that stage of my life, now. It's time to have fun, again! Actually, our baby is 32 years old and is the one who got us started showing cars. Now that our daughter and her hubby have bought a car, it's become a family thing. Amongst us, we have three Mustangs and a Miata to show, this year.

Yesterday's weather is a prime example. Called for 60% isolated to severe thunderstorms all day. I was going to finish up my landscaping, mulch, etc. but I saw that it was supposed to rain all day so I didn't get the truck set up.

Then it is a freaking beautiful day, all day, and rains last night. I did manage to transplant two bushes and put in two new ones though.

Latest 10 day forecast I saw this morning shows partly cloudy for Saturday. I suspect we'll see more than one swap in the predictions, by then. :(

I'll try to be there, only been to one meet so far. I can bring my DNP turbo manifold if anyone wants to help tackle it. Its been sitting in the garage for about 6 months now.

By then, i'll have my Standback/PnP/ and original ECU back in the car.

70 and sunny according to this morning's CJ. RX-8 wheels should be on by then (tires shipped from South Bend this morning), and I'll probably do the Home Depot Performance lip before the meet too, but that still leaves plenty to do: CAI, test pipe, boost tubes, radiator hoses, maybe paint eyelids if the paint comes in before then (not counting on this).

Bring antifreeze, drain pan, and an empty jug for the radiator hoses. I hate those clips with all of my heart! Changing the wife's bottom hose sucked more than working on a VW.

Is anyone in need of tools to do their install? I will bring my sockets, misc tool bag, jack, jack stands, detail stuff, and shop vac. Will also bring a Nerf Gun to snipe Jeff.

If you will be using and have a jack and stands bring them. Sounds like a few cars are going to be needing them.

I think that I might actually be able to make it to this one. I don't have any work that needs done, but I have zero problems stopping by and hanging out/eating pizza.

Thanks for keeping me in the loop.

Any of you guys ever try out the timing advance on a 2.3 motor? I was thinking about it, even it just makes the throttle response better. But if this is a no good mod I won't waste the 20 minutes under the car.

can u post directions in case ?

6025 shean ct. louisville ky 40291

Gene Snyder to Bardstown Rd
Go North
Pass Fern Creek Rd - There is a gas station on the left and a Walgreens on the right.
You take the next left which is on the curve - Wimsatt Way
If you get to Autozone you passed it up.
On Wimsatt take the second left - Shean Ct.
It is at the end of the court.

Plenty of parking.

I read about it but haven't put a lot of thought into it. I have way too much waranty left to think about messing with the timing.

Now the TB ground mod is an idea.

Have you done the shaft delete?

I have not done the shaft delete. But I did do the TB ground. And on my car it did help with the hesitation. My car is drive by wire though. I doubt this will do anything for a good old fashioned throttle cabled car.

I may try out the timing advance. Easy enough to change back if the car ever needed to go in. And I will look more into the shaft delete.

I'm gonna try to get there a little earlier...I got the RX-8 wheels on, it is teh new hotness. James, your friend Kai (19psi on 502) hooked me up.
