Spring Cleaning Meet - May 15th

Well, we won't exactly have time to do everyone's car full up like those. Even with 2 people on one car it's a full days work. However I will be able to give many pointers and I do have some stuff for people to use.

That's what I was going towards. Give pointers to people so they can do the work on their own vehicles. I figure it would be easier and more efficient for some things to be done before hand.

I, however, will not be doing a detail on mine unless I bring the Miata. Then I might enlist in your help Josh.

I would say quick wash, even clay bar it before hand too....

A quick wash = 1 hour. Full wash = 2.5-3 hours. Clay barring = at least 5 hours + the time to wash beforehand + 1-2 hours of wax after. I'm meticulous...

I think I'll just wash her with Dawn when I get there...

It's true Bruce. A pressure washer is best with engine degreaser. We might be able to get most of it out with my hose. Just pick up the degreaser and plenty of rags.

A quick wash = 1 hour. Full wash = 2.5-3 hours. Clay barring = at least 5 hours

You work slow. I've clayed the Miata and the MS6 in that time.

If you can, find a place that does steam cleaning. I'd check and ask them about how they do business with that. If you feel a bit edgy, don't do it.

yup sure does.. works wonders and saves tons of time.. i only do it once a year, usually after the winter months.. hoping to avoid it this year.. i was a bit skeptical at first to try the pressure washer thing, but after i got done cleaning with it, does a damn fine job..

Yes, it's the same thing. Water coming out of a nozzle under pressure. Though you have to cover any vital electronic parts first. I don't recomend if you have not done it before.

Also, once it's clean all you'll ever need to do is regular upkeep. I've never sprayed water into my engine bay because the previous owner took great care. Have owned my car over 3 years now.

I would try not to get the engine bay THAT wet, the coil packs do not respond well to that type of treatment.

No you remove the coil pack and wires and leave them soaking in a bucket of soapy water for 1/2 hour make sure is warm water. Then you take them and hang them on the clothes line. HAHAHAHA
