Spray paint removal

Hello,

I feel kind of weird for posting this. Early this morning my Protege got vandalized. The back window was spray painted on. I was just wondering how I'd be able to remove the paint safely. Is acetone safe to use in this case or is there something else? Thanks.

I agree with SciFiMan. Use a razor blade tilted so that it's almost parallel to the glass. It should come off with that.

eh... this is sorta releated..

I painted my RB catback with high temp spray paint.... and I'm selling it on Sunday so I need feedback asap. It's stainless steel for those that don't know.

What should I use to remove it?
Just paint thinner/mineral spirits?

It's only one coat so it shouldn't be too bad.

Thanks in advance

I'd try using the paint thinner or a few different metal polishes first. Specifically Mothers mag polish with a cotton towel. It might remove the paint.

Sandpaper would work, but then you'd have scratched-up metal, which would require some serious polishing to fix.

Hopefully the paint thinner or metal polish will do the trick.

ACetone and break cleaner will get it right out but are extremly powerfull and will take out any normal paint they come into contact with.

Mineral sprits or turpintine will get it out with some muscle behind them (much safer).

I just got back from Ace Hardware with some high strength acetone.
Hopefully, that will do the trick.

Thanks for the feedback.

what are you replacing the cat-back with??
I'm putting my stock cat-back on. I'm selling the RB to get money for my MAM sleeper kit.
After I get the turbo, I'm going with a custom 3" exhaust from the turbo back with an electronic exhaust cut-out going behind the front wheels.
