Spool Springs installed

Potential Scammer!
I just installed my spool springs last night and they are sweet!(yippy) I feel the ride is much smoother. It looks sweet and you don't have to worry about not clearing speed bumps and such. My old civic used to scrape when I came into my driveway. My MSP doesn't! Oh yeah, Thanks Terry for a kick ass product! I would highly recommend these springs!(2thumbs) Evan

That's a nice drop. I don't think it dropped 2" all around like they say on the site. The rear is unfortnately sitting higher then the front. Does it feel bumpy in anyway?
Do you think you improved in handling?

Yes I installed the springs myself. No problem getting to them through the rear deck. Just five clips and pull up and out. Then one bolt for each seatbelt. Well it is supposed to be 2" drop for a stock protege. It lowered the msp about an inch. The back should come down abit after the springs settleGive them a week or two with a full tank of gas and they will be good to go).Looks perfect. Just right as pro5man said. It's not bumpy or bouncy in any way. All I can say is these springs are perfect in every way.
BTW My car only had 1/4 tank when I took these pics.

How is the handling compared to the stock springs? And did you install them yourself or take them somewhere?

Hey nice ride Sutonchinook ,I have my springs here waitin to be installed .I hope i get a little more of drop than what is in your pic.I like my cars a little lower than that .If it dosn't give me the desired drop I might have a set of spool springs for sale!

Im pretty sure that the springs will soften as the car sets on them, therefore lowering the car a tad bit more in time.
Looks good man.

anyone who hasn't installed their springs yet, could you take a look a the rears (long skinny ones) and tell me if the top of them keeps spiraling up or if the flatten out. and also check if they are the same length or not.
yesterday i installed one of the rears and got absolutly no drop at all. so pulled it out and noticed that the rears are cut at different lengths and don't flatten out on the top like the stock mp3 springs.
i'm really pissed off right now about this and i'm hoping i somehow installed them incorrectly and that the springs themselves are some how deffective.

the back is higher than the front, not buy much, but when you get the car stock, the rear is higher than the front. so it is an even 2" drop all around.

I just pulled mine out of the box to check,If i set them on the floor next to each other(the new rears)they are exactly the same heighth.I'm not sure if this is what you were asking but i hope this helps
Matt:cool:

okay do the tops keep spiraling up, like were the cut mid spiral or do they flaten out near the top before they were cut? thanks.

Total install time was 3 hours. I could have done it quicker if it wasn't the first time working on protege suspension. Got the alignment and everything is good to go now. No need for a camber kit! I believe the spring rate is the same as the Racing Beats, maybe a little bit firmer. I could be wrong though! Evan

BTW I put one rear on first and got no drop too. You need to put on all of them before you will see the difference.;)

the rears are the same height, but there are more top coils on the spools, so it will compress together, thus lowering it more.

aside from terry, i believe ive had the spools on my car the longest of anyone on the forums.
