Speed6 overall reliability...

Apart from a few issues with the keyless entry, my MS6 has been rock solid. I probably have the oldest one on the forum and it has never given me any major problems.

Bought my 06 MS6 Sport new in 11/06. Have around 13.5K miles on it. No problems whatsoever. Only brought it in for the recalls. Wish I hadn't... gas mileage decreased around 5% since then.

Completely stock, no mods at all, and I'll probably leave it that way.

I am also looking at a speed 6 , I keep reading that some people have gotten their engines and turbo seals replaced. I was just wandering is this a very common thing, or just a rare occasion. I am also looking at a speed 3, is this a better choice?

my car has been in for a handful of issues, but nothing that actually was detrimental to the car. it had a cel for the purge valve solenoid,
it had the steeing sensor issue, and it had an issue with the advanced keyless. nothing in that list actually caused any really damage or even issues. they were are just slight first year kink issues.

speed 3 is more of a raw sport compact, whereas the speed6 is more luxury meets sport. it really just depends on what you are looking for in a car.

turbo seals issues are really only apparant if you have an aftermarket exhaust. yes they seem to have some issues, but i haven't heard of anybody having anything more than some smoke because of it.

engines, not anyone with a stock engine that i know of.

side note: i feel like this same question comes up again and again...

If you're in the market for a base-level Audi A4, the MS6 is for you. If you're more interested in the Dodge SRT4 then the MS3 is for you. They serve two totally different markets even though they have many similarities.

All in all, the jury is still WAYYY out on this car. Give it a few more years, because the reliability that matters is the after 50k miles and into the 100K+ troublefree that matters. Nothing to brag about when a car is 1-2 years old and has had no problems after 15-20k miles. It's supposed to be reliable up to that point like nearly every car is. It's when you get to the 5 years of age 100k+ mark, where it counts. We shall see. :)
