Speed Star D5R's

Does anybody know about these wheels? Are they good? TireRack has them for 199$ and I was wondering if anyone knew about the quality of the rims? They are sort of heavy at 23 lbs, but I figure if I get a lightweight tire (Yokohama Parada Spec-2) then it will be the same weight as stock.

never heard of them but they look pretty sweet.
i think they would look betterin a flat black with polished lip.

i don't think speed star and ssr are the same company... i could be wrong but ssr makes some pretty nasty light wieght wheels and compitition wheels... and speed stars are a very cheap wheel by comparison....

I was lookin over at the S2KI.com forums, and apparently they are the same. On TireRack they have the Professors and the D5R's on the same page.

SSR = Speed Star Racing

I was thinking that the Speed Star racing name was reserved for their cast wheels and the SSR name was for their lighter weight (and more expensive) forged wheels. They are nice looking wheels though. What is the offset? they look like they have a pretty deep lip.
