Spec -V Falls Hard to the Protege5

Hey Guys...I went out on Saturday to watch some races...There were tons of cars around...They all met up before i got there and were chased out by the cops...But anywayz...It Was down By seaside..Rt. 37 to NJ People...

I pulled into this parking lot and there was 2 spec-v's, 1 turbo'd eclipse & 1 nissan altima

One of the Spec-V's was stock.. and the other had an intake ...catback exhaust and a chip...he said he was running over 180hp...So he tells me lets line up...So i we line up..and some guy comes up and tell us to line up...than drops..his hands to say go...well..i dropped the hammer at 3300rpms..and spun throught first..shooting into second..and spun until i hit third..he beat me....(Damn Nitrous Makes My Tires Burn Out!)

Next race..we line up again..and i launch around 2800rpms...and bam..little peelout..but lots of accelleration...Beat him by half a car length...I got the first race on tape...But the one i lost was only partially recorded...The guy was cool about it..and than...

I raced a tubo'd Eclipse...Got that on tape..But lost twice...I was spinning through 1st..2nd and into third..and she was already gone...

It was a good time..met a whole bunch of new people and didnt' get busted for racing!!

I was told that next weekend..should be a good turn out...I will be sure to get more Recordings!..and i will post pictures and video's soon!

yea its fun when it goes on all night. we met at this sopt in ATL got there at about 1am then stayed till about 4:30 -5 no cops. it gave me a chance to see what my MSP could do it was OK i beat a crx with a ZC swap, an SI with I/E, early 90 integra LS with I/E header under drive pulleys. but got smoked by a GTI VR6, turboed lude, and crx with B18C. outer wise im satisfide for now still running stock.

That's a good idea, or if you wanted to stage your nitrous, I think that Venom has a product that can stage it as you see fit through the gears.

I know....I don't own a Protege5.....or even a Mazda for that matter......yes I do own a 2003 Sunburst Yellow Spec V........just thought i'd clarify something that;s all......you're from Jersey.....do you race down at the races in South Philly?......if so.....i would love to run you next time you're down there.....or even better.......at the track.......where the true test takes place......either way......my point of this post is to clarify that nobody makes a "chip" for the Spec V motor.....and nobody ever will either.....you can not chip our motor b/c we have throttle by wire.....as well as CVTC...Continuous Variable Timing Control.......Jim Wolf Technology is currently developing pistons, rods, cams, and a full replacement ecu for both boosted and naturally aspirated applications.......I'm not saying either way that that "ricers" Spec V is faster or slower than your juiced 5.....i just thought I'd clarify things for you guys

Hehe, maybe he got the ebay "chip." Why the hell did I sign up just to post that.... I'd better add something else.

Anyway, if he had a "chip" he was either lying or he got a worthless resistor off of ebay. And the intake and exhaust would give him 180 crank HP, probably 150/155ish to the wheels.

Yeah right.......making excuses?.....i'm not even gonna pay attention to that post.......there's no reason for me over 2 hours to go to a race track when I have 2 tracks that are each within an hour from my house........and don't try and say that I'm not up for the challenge......what I'm not up for is the 2 hour drive each way and all those miles on my car......nuff said
