Spark plug options - Unichip users

Hi all,

I have been doing some extenisve searching on my options for new sparkplugs but I am having trouble getting any solid information.

My MSP is bone stock with the Unichip EMS. I am not going to do any more modifications to the car. My goal is to take the stock set-up and have the car run as efficiatly and as quiet possible. I keep the Unichip in "stock boost mode".

I need to know...

1. What are my options for new Spark plugs.

2. Why are they an option.

In the time it took you to type that meaningful response you could have passed along your spark plug opinions. You should make wiser use of your time.

Denso IK22's have given me good results with Unichip. You may not really need the colder heat range at stock boost, but it can be an extra safeguard against detonation in the case of a lean situation (Unichip screwing up, vacuum leak etc.). I'm not exactly stock, but I'm running about the same amount of boost. The Denso plugs are not cheap, but they are pregapped perfectly and everyone seems to love them. I doubt I'll put anything else in my MSP.Of course this is just my opinion, from my experiences. I don't think that anyone can really prove that one plug is the best.

See my mods below. Unichip on Map A, "low boost setting" which is 10psi spike and holds about 9psi solid.

1. Stock MSP plugs.
2. Because they work fine.

You can't go wrong either way, but if your a little heavy footed I'd go for the ik22's over the stockers.

I 'm going to try the Denso plugs this round and maybe fall back to the stock plugs if the 22's dont work out well.
