spark plug location - Protege 2003 LX

This is a very embarassing question, but where are the spark plugs located on the Protege 2003 LX? I have changed plugs before on my previous cars, but they were easy to locate: top engine and visible black boots. On this one, everything looks like a sensor and I'm afraid to start pulling randomly whatever comes in fours and it is in proximity to the engine block. I have attached a picture of my soon to be cleaned engine, maybe you can point me in the right direction. Are they on top (1), up-front and down (3 - behind the cover), or behind, where those wires pop-up (2). I was guessing they're on top (1), but I can't tell for sure. Please help.

#1. Just take out the 4 10mm bolts holding the coils down and pull everything out. Sparkplugs are under there.

indeed. What xelderx said. Make sure when you will be putting everything back together, to NOT tighten those 4 coil bolts. Just tighten them snug. (thumb)
