I loved my Passport for years, but it is dead and time has pasted it by.

I'm looking at the Valentine (with coverage for everything) with the remote panel. (I like the idea of the remote panel because then you don't have the beeping, flashing detector up on the windshield or visor if for some reason it doesn't warn you in time!!!)

Thoughts?

this is the one i have but i just got it so i haven't really tried it out

Passport 8500 with integrated install, nothing else comes close. Also their realy not that hard to install.

Escort 8500, had a Valentine 1 and sold it, kept falling from the windshield, that thing weights about 10lbs.

Save your money and drive the speed limit!

Right......speed limit.....I've heard of that before, maybe it was on another post.......damn, I cant think where I've heard that term before, I'll have to get back to you. I'm not that good with terms......"speed" limit...does that have something to do with the child safety locks?

Ah! Found it....
Speed Limit: The fastest your car will go.

Happy hunting:cool:

i believe the speed limit is the theoretical limit of your car in terms of top speed, so "OUR" speed limit (ones with PR5's) are around 215KPH on a good day, i generaly tend to stay under the speed limit maybe around of it to save gas :)

Say what you want about the Valentine One, it is supreme supreme supreme. Worth every penny from what I can tell. I've ridden with a coworker who has one and can say it picks up pigs, state troopers, lasers and grocery store doors like nobody's business.

YES, especially since the county which houston is in and all the counties that touch it decided in their infinate wisdom to drop the speed limit back to 55!!!.....geeeez if you were to TRY to run 55 you wuold get your ass run over!! so I dug out my old Passport 5000 and put it back in my car....

its pretty much a fact that with the "instant on" radar these days that the detector only does you some good if you are out there running with traffic on the road....that way when they shoot at the traffic ahead of you, you catch some of the signal and slow down.....cause if you are out there running solo....they will nab you anyway.

I would have to agree with Captain KRM P5. The directional identification capabilities of the Valentine One blow away the competition.

I agree with Rick, drive the speed limit. I have a Radio shack radar/laser detector with compass and speaker. works great and picks up pretty good. the only i way i have been caught with it is if i make illegal u-turns (it was a new sighn, i have been making turns there for 8 years) :) or the cops use laser guns and i am just too slow to make a turn before i get to the cops :)

V1

I can not say enough about how impressed I am with the Valentine One Performance... not only is it worth every freakin dollar but it's upgradeable so when they come up with new standards or the improve the detector you can send it in to be upgraded without paying full price for another.

Saved my ass many a time.

Escort Passport 8500 here. That V1 is heavy. I agree with MacDaddy. The passport 8500 is also upgradable just like the V1. The range is also awesome!:D
