Take the written quote from the dealership to the tint shop with you and if you can a pic of what it should look like (one peice). At least get them to split it with you and then insurance claim a cracked windshield. This is the truth, they do NOT inspect the glass to make sure it is cracked/chipped. They merely cut a check to the shop that replaces it. Get at least half the cost from the shop (if they fight tell them you will split the cost) or at least get them to pay your deductible and have them arrange the replacement glass in total. Win/Win for both. The insurance company will not know the difference and the replacing shop wont care, keeps them in business. Remember, windshield claims are not held against you as far as insurance rates are concerned.
452 wow thats cheap here in germany i had to get my windshield fix or i could drive my car and i had to go to a german shop the windshield itself was 1100euro add that as dollars its some where around 1600dollars at and then another 300euro for install. They told me because its a rainsensing windshield and since it was american spec thats why it cost so muc. So i was like wow i wish i was in the states cause iknow it wold be hella cheaper judging by your quote i was rite man i hate germany!!!
is the tint underneath where the mirror was mounted? if so, then there is your proof right there. how else would tint get there without them taking it off.....
