what do you guys think? how bad is it? i'm wondering if i could throw a mazdaspeed decal over it or if its too far over from the door jam... it'd have to be a pretty long decal i think.

yeah man. my friend said he saw some guys hanging around across the street but that doesn't help anything. if my car had an alarm i might have been able to catch them.

Yeah i know how that goes, however a alarm might be the way to go plus it will get you cheaper insurence rates. It does suck about your car man and its wrose then i originally thought! I've had my cars egged and the windows shot out with a BB gun!(bad area of town) Well not my p5 but my all mystique.

In the last picture, what are the two things either side of your antenna? Some new communication device?

:) :) :) :) :) :)

I got egged on the freeway and my damage was worse than that. I feel for you dude...

Chris

Why don't mazdaspeeds come factory alarmed, I mean your paying the buck for the mazdaspeed not the low end model. Also, if some one did any thing to my car they would have some interesting stories to tell after they got out of the hospital and I got out of jail !

The closest I got was I had my grandma and my sister in the p5 and I passed some kids and I heard a rock type hitting noise. I stopped dead in the middle of the street but than concluded that I had kicked up a rock into the fender well... lol I was ready to get down

haha. yeah. it does look worse than it is in the pictures but its still really bad for eggs. the picture that has the most chips in it, they aren't noticable at all from about 2ft away. even at certain angles i have to search for it, but i still want to get it taken care of. haha, i think those are chimney's. thats funny though. yeah, i'm trying to get to the bottom of this. i only know one high school kid that lives in my neighborhood and he has his own house. i'm going to ask him if he had a party. hey chris, what did you do to fix the chips, if that was the case? how did it come out?

You could touch in up with paint. Metallics aren't so great for matching though. You might just want some paint on there for rust prevention. No easy fix on that damage sorry to say.

yeah, thats another possibility. i heard paint brushing matches very well. the only problem is how small the area is. i guess they could air brush the whole area and use clay bar or langka to remove the access paint. i know there are ways of making it look really good, i just can't find anyone that knows how to do it. i know metallic paints are hard to match but there has to be a freakin way. airbrushing is probably one of them. and i think if someone took the time to put on about 5 really really small coats on it would work. the metallic would rise to the top, but the top doesn't necessarily have to be higher than the paint... thanks for all your support guys. keep it coming. if anyone knows a good paint chip repair place in socal, please let me know. i'll travel.

oh, i don't know if you guys read but... i was thinking. what about a decal? would it be too big? i could get maybe a 12-14" mazdaspeed decal and it would cover the majority of the one on the door i think... if you're looking at the side of the car, its a couple inches further than the mirror. i'll post a pic later, my computer is being lazy.

i can't post a pic with a circle... i don't have paint. i have an imac. the damage is about dead center of the pic. if you look closely, you can see a small black dot. the damage is about from there, and over an inch.

i cant even see anything...go to a paint shop and have a guy air brush it...like the s*** they use to paint pictures on cars...would take like 3 sprays prolly if u bring the can of paint from mazda or something

so somebody should be able to air brush it and then take the access off with a clay bar or something right?

i talked to a custom paint shop and he said that air brushing wouldn't work well because the metallic doesn't come out at the same pressure as the rest of the paint. he said the best thing to do is to cut and polish what he can and then maybe if i want, touch up and sand the ones i NEED to.

Honestly I would stop stressing. I have two rock chips that are much worse then that. I dont mean to be rude but damn it isnt a show car. Yeah its new but wait till something worse happens then stress about that.
