Some Fnck!ug Bastard Stole my Z828!

So here's what I know - they took the Z828 and the subwoofer. What I don't know is whether they took the amp, if there was an amp (I kinda figured there was one) and where it would be located so that I can see if it's still there. I don't know all that much about car audio stuff.

I'm meeting with the insurance guy on Monday afternoon, so I'd like to know before then.

Any help is appreciated!

yea the mp3s cam with a subwoofer. the subwoofer had a built in amp. sorry to hear that it was stole, should look into a security alarm next mod.

Someone stole my stock Z919 radio, which prompted my upgrades..

One thing you may want to look at doing is disabling your trunk release lever. This is what kept the thieves from raiding my trunk after they broke into the cabin. There is a little yellow lever located on the trunk latch. Move it up. Be carful not to lock your keys in the trunk though!!

Also, shave the inside door locks and disable the interior electronic lock switch so someone cant bust the window and easily open the door.

what linux said is a very good idea too, disable that release lever and make sure the fold down seats are locked.

OK, so the subwoofer had a built-in amp. Does the rest of the system run off of the Z828 head unit or is there another amp somewhere?

the rest of the speakers ran off the z828 HU.

but look on the bright side.... the unit sucked anyways.

also, mine was broken, while an attempted theft. so I know how you feel.

yeah, ther eis a latch on the backside of the seat. it prevents the seat from being able to be folded down

well ur prolly gonna have to call kenwood and get them to fax something to ur ins on the retail for this..my z919 got stolen a week b4 xmas and it was retailed at 799...so hopefully they can give you around the same price..just a heads up but not sure how ur ins is if they take ur word for it or not...but thats the route i had to go

Wow, I hadn't thought of that. I'm actually going to the dealer tomorrow for them to write up a quote for replacing all the stuff that was either damaged or stolen. I'm curious to see how it compares with what the adjuster comes up with. I met with him today, but I don't know that he caught on that the car really came with all the Kenwood stuff.

my ins company didnt really care...they were just like tell me whut you had in there and well...s*** i could have told them i had this and that and all and well...i coulda gotten the money for that...but sorry asses cut me a check minus 20% for my stuff being used...which my sub/box wasnt more than 6 months old and didnt take a beating like some ppl push their stuff...but oh well i was happy just to find out that damn cd player was over 800 after taxes

I am getting a used subwoofer to replace the Kenwood one that was stolen. Could someone take a picture of the mounting plates on the Kenwood model so that I can make replacement brackets so that I can still use the mounting holes that are already in the trunk. TIA!!!
