these new Mazdaspeed Proteges hit the streets ? I mean, I can see all of these new things lining up to me reving at a stoplight and I'm going to start getting pissed and go mod-crazy. Hell, I don't even have the time or money to mod, but I can see myself having a higher craving to do so when these suckers come out.

Only problem is, nothing will really gives us great enough gains except for forced induction. Why does it have to be so expensive . Oh well.

Easy. The Mazda speed 3 isn't coming out until...Oct? So, then winter hits, you probably won't even see one until SPring 2003 unless he got winters on, if not and you see one before then, let him "rev" is engine all he wants because it's WINTER. Then MAzda is "supposed" to be releasing yet another MAzdaspeed 3 car spring 2003....just buy that one, and Rev your engine right back at em

Try the winters in Texas. Lots of nice, cool air for consumption by the intake. Gotta love it. It can also be 90+ degrees in the dead of winter.

Ditto for Florida. I actually look forward to driving in the winter here. It's not too cold so it doesn't take all day for the car to warm up before you can start driving hard, but it's cool enough to make the car run alot better.

Track days during the winter here are packed. 90'-100'F and 90% humidity are not the optimum conditions for racing in a Florida summer.

I am not going to worry about some FELLOW PROTEGE owner revving his engine at me for a race....for if he is revving at me...he and he is a TRUE Protege Enthuiest....he is just trying to get my attention to wave to me..... :{D Not to mention.....they will be so far and few between.....It will be a rare day when I see one. After all...there is only ONE Mp3 in my town...and beleive it or not...its owned by some middle aged lady that doesn't even truely know what she has.

I'd be less concerned with fellow protege owners and more concerned with random people mistaking my mp3 for a mazdaspeed. That's OK tho...BC soon I'll be boosted...and I'll have more at the wheels than the mazdaspeed has at the crank.

The Mazdaspeed Protege might be out as early as September though...September is still pretty nice here in Colorado.

The Protege will still be the Protege until the new car comes out sometime after the Mazda 6 and RX-8 hit the market, at which time it might be called the Mazda 3...There are other names on the table too though.

where did you hear this? my dealer told me that there would probably be a second run of MS-Proteges this coming spring, aprilish, in a diff color than the black and orange. I posted this on the MS part of this board but no one has been able to confirm it. Did you just read my post or have you heard of this second run somewhere too? and if you heard of it on your own was it supposed to be a diff car at all? or just a diff color?
