im gonna end up ordering a hiboost fmic within the next couple of weeks. from what ive been reading our car runs really rich. i figured i would buy the joep fcd and fpr and put it in at the same time as the intercooler. heres the setup i hope to have within the next month or so...

Current Mods:
JoeP MBC
GReddy TT
Boost Gauge (some no name...but oh well)

Soon to come:
HiBoost FMIC
JoeP FPR
JoeP FCD

does anybody have this setup or close to it? im hoping to boost 10 psi once i get the rest of my stuff installed. what kind of numbers should i expect as far as horsepower and tq? any problems that any of you guys have encountered with any of these products? my main concern is will i be safe at 10 psi with these mods and how rich will i be running and will it be a big problem that will need some major attention. all your help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

you will be fine at 10 psi with those mods, just make sure you are putting in 93 octane and you'll be fine, you could probably run 12 psi with 93 octane. You should be looking at around 200 whp with those mods.

lately ive been reading the threads of people who have installed this kit on their cars and they all seem to say they want to change the BOV. im not entirely familiar with the HKS or the GReddy type-s, can someone please enlighten me with what the point of upgrading to the type-s would be? any actual horsepower gains that would justify the $190 price tag? thanks again.

you won't gain any hp from switching bovs...the hks that comes with that hiboost kit is bad, i had it on my car, i know 1st hand...the type s is a better bov and more adjustable...and is definately worth the extra money imo.

what makes the HKS so bad? is it just a personal preference of how it sounds or does it actually have some effect on the effeciency and performance of the engine?

Are you talking about the hks ssqv or the recirculating one?

i personally would do exhaust before intercooler. those cats are choking the system, you can get those replaced for relatively cheap if you want and then get the fmic and you'll be way more happier with your car

Just so you know ahead of time... Joep is backed up with orders. It would take at least two months for you to get anything from him. So don't plan on putting it on your car at the same time. Make other plans for the meantime until he catches up.

Sound cool, but you should think about making your own FMIC,I like custom.
mine cost me $160 for turbo hoses couplers,$140 for mandrel bends,$24 for stainless high torque clamps, plus a BOV $100-$250, a intercooler (could cost anywere between $200and $1000 )and a friend or local shop with a welder.
it's a lot easer then you think.
and In my opinion looks better.

and for an intercooler check out E-bay's speerco intercoolers.

i'd like to go custom but ive heard really good things about hiboost and i dunno if i really want to have to go thru the trouble of finding all the right stuff and all. my brother tried to do a custom job like that one time and it took him forever to get all the right parts and all. i'd rather just order a hiboost and know that ive got everything i need.

I'm biulding mine right now.It took me 3 days to have everything I need to my door.
hoses and clamps I picked up at turbohoses shop, mandrel bends I got from www.summitracing.com ,the intercooler I got from e-bay.

I just started to build it yesterday mourning, and I will be done within the next 2 hours.
the only tools you need ;screwdrivers,8mm&10mm sockets, saw(hacksaw, sawzall,or chopsaw),and some s*** to secure the intercooler to the car.

but if you want High boost parts go ahead from what I here they are nothing but good products.

like i said im ordering the hiboost kit. i have all the money but now im not sure what i want/need to do. ive read that i need some sort of intake with the kit but if i buy the injen im gonna be real short on money and the install may have to wait for some time. but then i saw a picture of the stock intake with the intercooler installed. i'd like to do that until i can afford a better intake. are there gonna be any problems with the BOV if i just put it on the stock intake? what should i look out for with this setup. i also want to know exactly what im gonna have to do to make it work well. new spark plugs, etc., any stuff like that that i should buy? thanks.

just ordered it, also ordered the injen cai with it. ive been reading around the board some more about fmic trying to ease the anxiousness of waiting for it to arrive. ive found some threads of people saying they felt their car get slower? my only performance mod is a joep mbc. is my car gonna feel slower when i put it on? if so, what mods would i have to get in order to take full advantage of the intercooler? thanks.
