So i'm getting the 4k RPM shudder reeally bad now suddenly

so this morning, my car starts bogging and misfiring. turns out the connector fell off one of the coil packs.

This was fixed, but now I'm getting the 4k shudder really bad.

the car always bogged at 4k. I read some threads here indicating that this is the transition between closed loop and open loop, and under some circumstances, the car will run super rich for a second at this point.

My car always used to do that, and it felt a little like the clutch was slipping or something. but now its a full on lurching.

any ideas? its a 2003.5 with the reflash.

oh, and if the problem is due to an excessively rich condition, would running a lower octane fuel or hotter plugs maybe help?

thanks!

Unfortunately the only way to fix it running rich is a piggyback tuner or standalone ECU. Don't run anything but premium fuel and plugs won't help it run any better.

Just wanted to update this thread to say that the problem more or less fixed itself after driving for a while. I guess the ECU needed to get it's learn on.
