so i've been teetering back and forth between the two. and its down to either FMIC or TBE. since both will cost about the same... i figure ill see what you guys think an go from there. I def want to get something that i will be able to tell a real power gain from. i searched for threads about info on both but didnt come up with anything. so its either ExhaustDepot front mount or Corksport TBE. for those of you with either mod... give me your input. my initial thought for the front mount came up cause lately the top mounts been running really hot...and has been heatsoaking occasionally. its not an everyday thing. but, it has been happening (even when its cool out) i know once it gets warm here in FL it will turn out to be a pretty bad problem esp with all the traffic. TBE basically i wanna do for the power gain. so gimmie your input thanks (thumb)

My personal opinion would be TBE before FMIC, thats the route I went. I think its safe to say the stock exhaust is more of a restriction than the TMIC. I got the Cobb TBE and could not be happier...

I say go with the TBE first.

The Cobb TBE isn't very loud, is it?

Sorry to thread jack a little

You don't need to go with the whole turbo back, though...you can get the downpipe and test pipe and have the same HP gain. The cat-back section is fine in stock form...replacing it won't get you much of a power increase, but it will dent your wallet pretty well.

^^^^^ exactly. Catback = sound only

I would go downpipe / test pipe 1st.

Unless you dont mind the installation, warranty issues, cost then the FMIC is your best option no doubt.

I actually got a cp-e front mount then changed my mind. Sold it back. I dont visit the track often (only once in the year ive had the car). With an upgraded TMIC heatsoak wont be THAT bad. Its only if you sit from stoplight to stopligh in like 85 degree blasting sun or of course sit at the track for an hour waiting for your turn. Also once you start moving the TMIC cools WAY faster than the stock oem.

I have come to the conclusion that if you dont track your car then a FMIC just isn't worth the hassle if your maintaining your warranty. Just my 2c
